DZOFILM Arles Primes.. even better than you think
Переглядів 5 тис.День тому
DZOFILM recently loaned us the Arles Primes to test and they performed way better then expected. This is an unpaid video and these are our own opinions, DZO only loaned these to us to demo. We were only loaned the 35/50/75/100 and haven't had a chance to try the 25 yet, but for this price point and the usability, these lenses were creating some really gorgeous images on the FX3 which surprised ...

    Looks really really good. @BlaineWestropp1 has a couple videos that he talks about raising exposure to avoid noise and what he did is he created some LUTS that are essentially -1 stop so that he can adjust all his camera settings to a higher exposure like you mentioned but then view the image on your monitor closer to what you want the end result to be.

    I like that you are focusing on one shot. I get overwhelmed thinking I need to recreate entire scenes and forgot it doesn’t have to be that big. Also, I’m curious to what matter box vnd did you use? Any diffusion filters?

    Wow, I'm blown away by how accurately Zachary Guy recreated the iconic party scene from Euphoria at home! His attention to detail and creative use of available lighting really brings the show's signature aesthetic to life. It's amazing to see how a skilled cinematographer can transform a ordinary space into something visually striking with the right equipment and know-how.

    Love this kind of breakdown! With regards to raising the levels after setting the shot up without changing camera settings - in this instance, you can boost all the lights to get +1 exposure, what would you do to increase levels in the shadow areas (the general ambience of the room) given the mix of RGB lights and a non RGB key light? would you just use a 5600K light into the ceiling or try to match the key?

  • @Oreocycllo
    @Oreocycllo 5 днів тому

    Did you expose to the right here? Or just used ISO 800 w the ND? I’m curious because I deal with Noise in the shadows filming “low light” scenes even when my cameras Lower Native Iso is 800. I actually found ISO 400 Exposed to the right while maintaining my contrast ratios with the light and pulled down in post to have virtually no noise.

    • @TenfoldProduction
      @TenfoldProduction 5 днів тому

      It was, but false colour would have shown us how crushed we were in the shadows. It would have been better for us to start at 12800 iso (second base) to raise the shadows first and nd back if we needed. Ultimately it is just a matter of getting more light in the shot, which you were doing by exposing for a stop less and getting the exposure right in camera.

    These Videos are amazing and shouldn't be free! Thank you so much. 🖤 One thing I'd love to see though, would be a quick chat about Exposure, ISO, let us see the False Color for a second and talk al little more in detail about your exposure choices etc. Especially in these moody scenes which i certainly struggle with. And the editing how much do you ETTR and then pull it down in post. People can learn even more from your videos. ;) That would be so cool. Thanks again. Cheers from Hamburg, germany

    I am beginning to think that 99% of the people watching the commercial couldn't tell the difference in video and video quality in those big camera rigs and expensive cameras vs something like even the Nikon Z9/8. I shoot real estate photography and no matter if I use HDR or flash in my photos, 90% of the agents have no clue and don't care either way.

      Yeah, different use cases for different people. There are so many factors and nuances when it comes to picking cameras for a project. We don't really care too much about what camera we use as long as it serves us best for the project.

    Hi guys, we've had the burano for a couple of months now, still having trouble seeing any major grain at 3200 iso (out of the ordinary fx6 style images) and the ir pollution seems non existent! we shot outside in bright sunlight and cloudy days and have not been able to see it. Having said that, all of our images exposed are at approx 60% on the waveform and we shoot 6k RAW. Puzzling, however, we did get a call from our supplier before our camera arrived saying there is a pre-shipment firmware update. Maybe they fixed that...who knows.
